The Benefit of a Curve Ball!

For awhile now have been on a positive roll- getting all the green lights! The start of this week got a ‘red’! Five minutes after completing my Tower work on Monday (Reformer sequence below)- all the electrics went down in the Studio! Followed by a nasty burnt rubber smell from the outside power supply. The knock on effect snow balled from there and into Tuesday.

Rescheduled the majority of 121 sessions hence no earnt income plus unknown expense to rectify the issue.

Firstly- this was my fault. Hands up I overloaded the circuit by using a 40 year old mobile heater!

Anyway- it got me thinking about the benefit of curve balls…

Sometimes the Universe throws us mini set backs and I feel there can be learning from them. As of late - been squeezing everything in at 100 miles an hour hence using the booster heater to get the Studio up to temp in record time. Losing just one day of Studio work made me realise how quickly things can change. As a one woman band- everything is down to just me- you wear so many ‘hats’ as a sole trader.

The lesson this week is to slow down- take stock and be in deep gratitude for what I have, as nothing is 100% guaranteed as a small Business.

Thankfully down to James of KF Construction (who built the Studio) all is restored. I am truly grateful to him for dropping everything to help get me back up and running again by Wednesday!

Wednesday is here and so far it has been a lovely calm morning. Great working with my ladies at Didcot Civic Hall in my 9:30 am class. Fantastic Hundred and Criss Cross exercise work today! Muscle memory is kicking in nicely across all Public Classes and everyone seems to be in the rhythm of Pilates!

Looking forward to teaching again this evening at Fleet Meadow in Didcot tonight for more of the same!
