Level 3 qualified for Reformer Teaching!

It’s been a great first week back with you all! Muscle memory kicked in and I saw some beautiful form and strength across all my Public Classes! Fully booked Tuesday 121 Studio sessions too- with great work on the Tower Reformer!

My new website page for ‘Reformer 121 classes’ is now up and running. Delighted to have received bookings for the new Beginner Course starting on Monday 22nd Jan- thank you to Subscribers for signing up! To find out more follow the link above.

Why use the Magic Circle?

For those that worked with the Magic Circle this week at Didcot Civic Hall here are a couple of extra exercises that you might like to try out at home. There are currently some good January deals on Amazon if you haven’t got this Pilates Prop…

This Pilates prop is a resistance ring that is made out of rubber or metal with padded handles on opposite sides.

It is great for providing resistance during exercises and helps to engage and strengthen specific muscle groups. I like using it particularly to target the inner and outer thighs as well as core muscles. In class we did Pelvic Curls using it for Abductor and Adductor muscles.

One of the main benefits I feel in using it is to improve Posture. Pilates is all about alignment and posture and the ‘Magic Ring’ can be employed to target and strengthen muscles that contribute to good posture, aiding in the development of a strong and well supported spine.

Like other Pilates equipment, the ‘Magic Ring’ encourages a mind-body connection. By focusing on controlled movements and proper form- mindfulness is brought into the workout.

Other news…

Unfortunately, due to the lack of numbers signing up for the recently advertised Beginner 6 week Course this has had to be put on hold for the time being.

In the mean time Newbies to Pilates are always welcome to join any of my classes and will always be fully supported by myself and my online materials.

App Update

I am currently working on version 2 of my APP and have taken off line, whilst doing amendments. Will shout out once published. Have several bite size clips on my YouTube page to fill the gap for those that wish to do extra bits and pieces at home. Click the link on the homepage to access.

Really enjoyed listening to this podcast yesterday so thought I’d share. Dr Swart’s voice is hypnotic and I’m looking forward to signing up for her Meditation podcast that she is currently working on…

Dr Tara Swart. Tara is a neuroscientist, a former medical doctor & psychiatrist, a lecturer at MIT, an executive coach and author of the bestselling book, The Source. She also hosts the podcast Reinvent Yourself with Dr Tara.

She uses neuroscience and behavioural psychology to probe ideas, theories, and practices that many believe work, but we’re not sure why. This insightful and often unusual episode takes a deep and meaningful look at stress - what exactly it is, what impact it has on health and how it predisposes us to storing fat. We also discuss the most effective ways to manage stress, the best ways to build resilience and the benefits of practices like journalling.
