Super Excited for the Refit!

May is here and building work has begun on expanding my home Studio! Needless to say- I am as you will guess super excited! Never dreamt three years ago that my Business would be in a position to move forward in the way that it is developing- feeling extremely fortunate.

The Studio will be closed for the majority of May - thank you to my 121 clients for their patience. The space will be worth the wait. I have lots of new ideas to ensure your time spent here will be both relaxing and atmospheric. Photos of the progression will be posted on Instagram.

Why increase the Studio Size?

My main reason for needing more space is I’m looking to expand my portfolio of teaching. Now that my APP is ready (Stage 1)- awaiting approval from Apple for the Store alongside Google Play- I am looking to upskill and learn how to teach Reformer Pilates. The equipment will take up the extra space that is being created.

Those clients in my Public Classes will have heard all about my crazy enthusiasm and excitement for this new bit of kit- currently being customised in my Brand colours for the Studio by Balanced Body in the US. Check out sneak preview below…

I will be starting my training in June with HFE and hope to be qualified by October. Lots of hard work ahead with further exams but I am the eternal student and love learning new things so fingers crossed!

Venue change for Wednesday Evening Class…

I have been struggling for a while with the fluorescent overhead lighting in the Northern Centre GWP centre. Although a great space and always nice and warm- I am needing to move the venue due to feeling quite unwell whilst teaching there.

A big thank you to my Wednesday evening clients for trialling a different venue last week. It went well I felt and is a lovely open and airy space with great parking! Only a 5 minute drive from Great Western Park- Didcot.

As of June we will relocate to Fleet Meadow Community Hall in Didcot- Subscription clients will receive new bookings once I have amended the website.

Let’s talk about Toe Taps

Over the last few week I have noticed a real improvement in the execution of the ‘Toe Tap exercise’.

This Pilates exercise is a great way to work your core and improve your posture. Here's a recap on how to do it:

  1. Lie down on your back with your knees bent and your feet flat on the floor.

  2. Engage your core and press your lower back into the mat.

  3. Lift your feet off the floor and bring your knees up over your hips, so that your thighs are perpendicular to the floor.

  4. Keeping your core engaged and your lower back pressed into the mat, slowly lower one foot towards the floor.

  5. Tap your toe on the floor and then bring it back up to the starting position.

  6. Repeat with the other foot.

  7. Continue alternating sides for several repetitions.

Make sure to keep your core engaged throughout the exercise and to breathe deeply. You can also modify the exercise by lowering your legs at different angles or by holding a small ball between your ankles. As always, if you have any concerns or injuries, it's best to consult with a healthcare professional before starting any new exercise routine.

Been thinking about getting a Headrest for Class?

Below you can see the various headrest designs I have created over the last three years. I make them in batches of 10- have one remaining from the latest logo design. Drop me a line if you’d like to reserve one from the next batch- £12. Hoping to gain inspiration from RHS Wisley Gardens at the end of the week! Watch this space…
